Hustle Up Productions is currently working on drama feature film called Grandfather’s Legacy. G.W.Willis-Brannigan and I started writing this film year ago. First it was planned to be a docu-drama, but already in the summer 2022 we decided to make it as an drama feature. Grandfather’s legacy is partially based on writer, publisher Kari Kallonen’s book Sinivihreät Baretit (Blue Green Berets 2007). Blue Green Berets was a very first time stories of Finnish men who were fighting in the Vietnam jungles for the , French, US and Australia was told. For decades official Finland’s information was that there wasn’t any Finns fighting in Vietnam. The idea for the Grandfather’s Legacy came from Kari’s book. As soon as I read it the first time I made a contact to Kari and asked weather he would be interested that there’d be a feature film based on his fantastic book. Kari showed the green light for the project and off we go.
Grandfather’s Legacy is currently on pre-production phase. The main production phase starts on August this year.
Logline:
In the battle against his own father who defies Otto’s plan to join the Finnish Navy as a combat diver, he finds an unexpected ally in his grandfather, a Vietnam War veteran.
